Pedigree Uses Facebook Photo Filters To Boost Pet Adoption

A customized camera effect lets users put on various dog faces before connecting them to pets up for adoption

Dog food brand Pedigree has launched a customized camera effect for Facebook that lets people put on different dog masks. This new campaign, for National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, aims to promote adoption through its fun and creative design.

The camera effect, created by BBDO New York, enables users to choose from multiple dog breeds to layer onto their selfie. They are also given information about adoptable dogs of similar breeds in their area, provided by online pet-matching resource AllPaws, in an effort to help dog-loving users find their future four-legged best friend.
