New security checkpoints will get added to airports in Dubai as more than 124 millions are expected to pass through it by 2020

As reported by The National, the General Civil Aviation estimates 124 million passengers will pass through Dubai airports in 2020. With this many people expected to roam around these facilities, the airports will modernize their security checkpoints with cameras to scan passenger’s faces.

In order to this effectively, the security checkpoint needs to change from a counter passengers slide all their belongings through into a large tunnel area. The tunnel is covered in hidden cameras, scanning every angle of a passenger’s face and their retinas. Inside the tunnel multiple alluring advertisements were placed to capture the passenger’s vision as they walk through the area, making it easier for particular cameras to scan parts of their face. At the end a display shows if they passenger may continue forward or if security needs to take additional measures.

The first security checkpoint tunnel gets added to the Dubai International Airport at the end of next summer.
