Indonesian club Persela Lamongan has confirmed its goalkeeper Choirul Huda has died after a freak collision with a teammate.
During an Indonesian Liga 1 match on Sunday, the 38-year-old football veteran crashed into Persela Lamongan teammate Ramon Rodrigues and Semen Padang opponent Marcel Sacramento.
Huda left his goalkeeping line in an attempt to clear the football when he collided with the two other players, according to football website Goal.com.
After the collision with Rodrigues and Sacramento, Huda lost consciousness.
