The threat to the Boundary Waters from mining interests has reared it’s ugly head again courtesy Minnesota Republican Rep. Tom Emmer.

A new bill introduced by Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) will overturn core tenets of federal public lands protection to expedite drilling in the Boundary Waters watershed in Minnesota, granting mining rights to a Chilean mining company with a well-documented history of serious pollution.

It should come as no surprise the Emmer has a 1% lifetime rating from the League of Conservation Voters.
