Most high-elevation or alpine trout lakes are accessible for fishing. Almost 200 small lakes, ranging from about 3,000 to 8,000 feet in elevation, lie within Chelan and Okanogan counties on public land, including the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Lake Chelan National Recreation Area, North Cascades National Park, Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and Colockum Wildlife Area.
