The Wall Street Journal: Hillary Clinton says she’ll donate Harvey Weinstein’s campaign contributions

Hillary Clinton promised to donate all of Harvey Weinstein’s campaign donations to charity.

The former first lady and secretary of state fell into line with other Democrats who want nothing to do with the movie-maker’s money.

“Well, there’s no one to give it back to. What other people are saying, what my former colleagues are saying, is that they’re going to donate it to charity, and of course I will do that,” Clinton told CNN on Wednesday.

Weinstein, a long-time Democratic Party backer, donated the statutory maximum $5,400 to Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.

A slew of women have come forward since last week, accusing Weinstein of boorish sexual harassment. The powerful producer has denied specific allegations but admitted to bad behavior.

“I was appalled. It was something that was just intolerable in every way,” Clinton said.

“And, you know, like so many people who’ve come forward and spoken out, this was a different side of a person who I and many others had known in the past.”
