The world needs all the inspiration it can get right now and Audible, the Amazon.com Inc.
company is trying to inject more positivity out there with the release of “Upstanders.”
The audio producer and seller has collaborated with Starbucks
to release a collection of stories featuring “stories highlighting ordinary people who are making extraordinary differences in their communities and beyond… [“Upstanders”] will remind people at a time when it is most needed that everyone has the power to make a difference.”
Audible has made series one and two, narrated by “Creed” and “Black Panther” actor Michael B. Jordan, available for free download.

Audible declared the “Upstanders” are “the opposite of ‘bystanders’…. Upstanders remind us that participation in civic life has no bounds — and that we can all be the change we wish to see in the world.”
The Upstanders were selected by Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz and “Green Zone” author Rajiv Chandrasekeran, who is now senior vice president, public affairs, at Starbucks. They include former NFL player David Vobora, who offers personal training to wounded veterans in Dallas, and a center for LGBTQ Teens and Families that has opened in a Mormon heartland in Utah.
Narrator Jordan said, “I like the idea of an average person being able to find something that bothers them or an issue that they feel needs to be addressed and raising awareness towards it…not all heroes wear capes.”
