3 rescued after plunging through Lake Erie ice

Three men were rescued near East Harbor State Park Sunday after the ice on which they were fishing broke, plunging the trio into frigid Lake Erie. By the time Coast Guard Station Marblehead dispatched an airboat around 9 a.m. Sunday, the men had pulled themselves out of the water and onto the ice to await the arrival of rescue personnel Station Officer Sean Nekoloff said the men were about one mile from shore off East Harbor State Park when they fell through the ice.
