It’s been over 40 years since Jim LeBlanc pulled the mayor of Fitchburg from the frigid waters of Sawmill Pond, but he tells the story like it happened yesterday. Mayor Hedley Bray had fallen through the ice while trying to save an 88-year-old man who fell in the water while ice fishing.
