Youngsters’ fishing day in Gresham offers tackle and trout

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will host a youth fishing event at the pond from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids younger than 12 don’t need a fishing license, required at a lower cost than adult licenses of those between 12 and 17. Licenses aren’t available at the pond. Volunteers and department staff, however, will hand out rods, reels, tackle and bait to those who need it and help teach youngsters how to catch trout.
