Youth fishing area open weekends through Labor Day

Every weekend through Labor Day, the Department of Natural Resource is offering opportunities for young anglers to fish at the Wildlife District Three headquarters. Chris Aman, a fisheries biologist with the Department of Natural Resource’s Division of Wildlife, said the Youth Fishing Area at 912 Portage Lakes Drive includes a half-dozen ponds in what is basically an old hatchery facility that was renovated into an educational area.
