Ice shift strands six fishermen on Lake Erie

Six people went ice fishing on Lake Erie Sunday around 9 a.m. when an ice shift occurred, leaving them stranded 150 yards off shore from the Sturgeon Point Marina, Evans Police reported. The Town of Evans Dispatch Center received the call around 1:05 p.m. Highland Hose, North Evans and Lake Erie Beach fire companies along with American Medical Response Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.
