Brunswick Optimist Club fishing derby features some fierce competitors

Gabriella Guzik, of Brunswick, turned 4 two weeks before the Optimist Club of Brunswick’s annual Fishing Derby fundraiser at North Park May 12. And while Gabriella and her father, Brian, and mother, Becky, were among more than 150 participants this year, the youngest Guzik might have been the most prepared. “She got her fishing rod for her 4th birthday,” Brian Guzik said as he dropped a line from the pink and blue rod into the North Park Lake.
