Prime Student subscribers can now save a little bit of money during summer break

Amazon‘s Prime Student program is already a pretty sweet deal for those who are attending school, and now the company has announced an additional benefit just for students with the introduction of month-by-month subscriptions.

As opposed to the one-year subscription, which has been the standard since Amazon first introduced Prime over a decade ago, students enrolled at any two- or four-year school in U.S. will now receive all the benefits of Prime without the commitment. It is ideal for students who live in dorms or near campus for only part of the year, helping those who normally don’t get deliveries during summer break save a bit of money.

“Our new monthly payment option lets students enjoy the best of Amazon in a more flexible and simple way,” Ellen Kinney, Director of Prime Student, said in a press release. “Whether it’s getting their favorite products with free shipping or streaming thousands of popular movies and shows, Prime student members can experience all the benefits of Prime.”

Prime Student is already a pretty fantastic deal even without this newly-added flexibility, giving those who attend school full access to all of Prime’s services for just $5.49 a month, which is a 50% discount off the regular subscription price. To join, college students simply need to provide a valid .edu email address.
